A quick reminder to all my friends from far and wide: The Palm Springs Valley is the place to be for music-lovers. But then, you already know that, right?! So if you’re thinking of coming out for the two biggest music events of the season—the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach California’s Country Music Festival—don’t forget to save the dates and plan ahead. Since upwards of 100,000 people make their way out to the desert to attend (or just be near) all the melodic action, reservations and pre-paid ticket purchases are a must.
Coachella will once again take place over two weekends—April 11-13 and April 18-20, 2014. Advance ticket sales have closed, so it’s important to be scanning the festival’s website often to see when the next block of tickets will go on sale. At this early date, none of the performers has been confirmed. But since every festival has sold out, it almost doesn’t seem to matter. There are so many musical options that there’s always something for everyone.
Stagecoach will follow the following weekend, April 25-27, 2014, and tickets are now on sale. The lineup has just been announced, and includes a who’s who of country music stars that includes headliners Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Luke Bryan.
I’ve been going to these monstrously successful music fests for years, and wouldn’t miss them for the world. Thankfully, the Empire Polo Club grounds where the events take place are only a short drive down Highway 111 from my home in Rancho Mirage. Many of my friends who attend stay at the resorts near me, like the Omni Resorts Rancho Las Palmas, the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa, or the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa. Check with them for reservations and find out what perks they offer festival-goers! www.coachella.com www.stagecoachfestival.com www.westinmissionhills.com www.rancholaspalmas.com www.hotwatercasino.com
