Double Your Fun with TWO Events: Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals

Save the date, baby!  The music men and women are comin’ back to town!  Yes, it’s time to make final plans for two of the hottest musical events of the season, known worldwide simply as “Coachella” and “Stagecoach” at the Empire Polo Club in Indio.

As we experienced last year, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will once again take place over back-to-back weekends, and offer a huge variety of performers.  This year each three-day fest will be headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers—returning to this annual extravaganza for their third time—and will take place on April 12 – 14 and 19 – 21.  The Stone Roses, Blur, and Phoenix will also be featured, along with more than 150 other groups, including Lou Reed, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (and yeah, I do like them!), and one of my all-time favorites, Moby!

Although both festivals are officially sold out, savvy music lovers somehow always seem to find a way to score tickets!  The expected crowd will be close to least year’s record number of almost 90,000 people per day.  (By contrast, Stagecoach brings in about 55,000 per day.)

Speaking of which, “Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival” will follow immediately after Coachella on April 26 – 28.  Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, and Zach Brown Band will headline, along with other very popular performers and groups, including Trace Adkins, Hank Williams, Jr., Jeff Bridges & The Abiders, Darius Rucker, and Dwight Yoakam.

These festivals always put a spring in my step and I’m so excited to once again be a proud pass holder and celebrate all the magic of the music that our magnificent Palm Springs Valley has to offer—and they’re only a stone’s throw away from my home in Rancho Mirage.  Look for me there!
