Womans-Show

I love women—love being with them, talking to them, learning from them. And that is why the annual Desert Woman’s Show in Rancho Mirage, soon to unveil its seventh incarnation, is always a highlight of my autumnal Palm Springs Valley calendar.

The 2014 affair happens at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa, for the second year in a row, on the weekend of November 15 and 16. As in years past, more than 3000 attendees are expected to attend the two-day event, which will be part fun and frivolity and part personal development. In addition to fascinating seminars conducted by world-renowned experts, there will be more than 100 exhibits devoted to local products and services. Just some of the areas touched upon will include fashion (runway shows!), décor, health, nutrition, fitness, beauty, finance, and relationships (with oneself, with friends, and with lovers). There’s even going to be a panel on self-defense! To ensure no one goes hungry over the all-day extravaganza, a Taste of the Valley will be on site with food and wine samplings from 14 Palm Springs Valley restaurants. And to top it all off, there’ll be daily prize giveaways. (We love prizes!)

Tickets and all the information you’ll need to plan your wonderful weekend are available at www.desertwomansshow.com. Before November 1, individual day passes are only $10 each. After that date, the regular rate of $15 per day per person applies. Taste of the Valley is $15 per person per day. And a ticket to the Sunday Luncheon Fashion Show (along with access to the VIP lounge) is $75. There are also two levels of weekend passes—VIP and Goddess, $100 and $200 respectively—each with its own set of privileges. Check out the website for complete details. And see you there, sister! I’ll be the one with Potter Palma on my arm. Did I forget to mention? The Desert Woman’s Show does not discriminate—friends of the male sex are welcome and encouraged to attend and show their support for the awesome women in their lives!
