Eisenhower Medical Center is undeniably one of the flagship institutions not only of Rancho Mirage but of the entire Palm Springs Valley. Which is why it’s no surprise that the non-profit hospital and its expert team of physicians, surgeons, and support staff continue to expand their reach into other desert cities—specifically Palm Springs
The newest of four Eisenhower Health Centers in that city opened in December at 415 South Palm Canyon Drive. The specialty medical services it currently provides include Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, Neurology, and Pain Management. Soon to be added will be Urology, Pulmonology, and Endocrinology.
In true Palm Springs style, the new center is an ode to midcentury modern design and the architecture of Donald Wexler. In addition, all of its artwork—photography, sculpture, tapestry—was created by California artists.
This latest addition to the Eisenhower Medical Center family will hold an open house on Friday, February 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Those interested in attending may obtain more information at 760-773-1460, or by visiting emc.org/palmsprings. I plan on being there, not only because I love that building and can’t wait to see the interior décor that was chosen, but because I fully support EMC, its branching out into Palm Springs, and the philosophy that no one wants to get sick, but that if fate should require one to receive medical services, one might as well receive them in a stylish, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment.
