First up is Modernism Week, which kicks off on February 15. The ten-day event displays the finest examples of mid-century modern architecture with bus tours through Palm Springs’ iconic neighborhoods and a tour of the Moroccan Modern showcase home. You’ll also find walking tours, films, lectures, parties and more during the event.
If you consider yourself a foodie, you’ll want to make a note to be in town for the Rancho Mirage Food and Wine Festival on February 17. Choose from over 200 wines and sample gourmet cuisine from some of the best restaurants in Rancho Mirage while enjoying live music and participating in a silent auction that benefits local charities.
The third annual Music in the Park concert series starts on February 18 with a performance by swing band Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. Can’t make it for the first show? A different act takes the stage each weekend through March 25, including jazz singer Diane Schurr, R&B performer Thelma Houston, disco band A Taste of Honey, country duo Thompson Square and rockers Blue Oyster Cult. Located in Rancho Mirage Community Park, the shows are free to the general public.
If you’re into sports, you’ll want to make a note of the next two events. The BNP Paribas Open brings the best tennis players in the world to compete under the desert sun from March 5 to 18. The event attracts over 370,000 tennis fans to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to witness both men and women compete in singles and doubles matches.
Witness the best in women’s golf at the ANA Inspiration from March 27 to April 2. Golfers from around the world converge at the Mission Hills Country Club to compete for the right to take the Champion’s Leap into the Poppie’s Pond off the 18th hole. It’s an event filled with rich traditions and fun for both golfers and spectators.
