Hilton Garden Inn Takes Good Care of its Guests

I’ve long been a fan of Rancho Mirage’s Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 111, located in the heart of the Palm Springs Valley.  With 136 comfortable and nicely appointed rooms and suites, all kinds of great amenities like free parking, complimentary wireless high-speed internet access, and a 24-hour business center, this place is perfect for family trips as well as for active business travelers.  And my pal Jan Brady, the director of sales and marketing at the hotel, tells me that just recently they have added enhanced food service that makes this option for accommodations even more enticing.

Although the Hilton is surrounded by all kinds or really great restaurants—many within walking distance, including those in The River complex—some of the hotel’s customers are interested in just staying on the property to dine.  This seems to be especially true for some of the road warriors who are often just too tired to get up and go out for a bite to eat.  So the hotel’s newly instituted full dinner service has come in extremely handy for these guests.  The 52-seat restaurant—with additional seating outside on the patio—offers flexible arrangements for intimate dinners and large business or family gatherings.  Jane invited me over one night to test it out and we dined in style, both ordering tasty appetizers and then indulging in nicely prepared steaks with all the trimmings.  (The mac-and-cheese side dish was pretty delish, too, I have to say.)  A full bar and some nice wines are also available.

The restaurant continues to serve freshly prepared full American breakfast, as well as lighter continental fare.  Lunch is not available at this time.  As a side note, the hotel’s “Pavillion Pantry” offers a full range of snacks, drinks, and even microwavable cuisine for easy prep in guest rooms, since all are equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave.  So that’s a nice option, too.

Jane and I had a fun time catching up and I really enjoyed our dinner in the new Great American Grill Restaurant.  It’s nice to know that guests have one more option.
