The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa recently released news of its fall line-up for “The Grooves at the Westin.” In partnership with Apaulo Music Productions, the popular jazz concert series resumes October 10 with multiple Grammy Award-winning guitarist Paul Brown performing in tandem with sax man Paul Taylor, who will be performing numbers from his recently released tenth studio album, Tenacity.
On Halloween night, guests and locals are invited to come (dressed up, or not) to join a masqueraded celebration that will coincide with the number one trumpeter in the U.S.A., Rick Braun, appearing alongside hot smooth jazz and R&B newcomers DW 3. The evening will also include dancing and a spirited costume contest.
On November 14, award-winning guitarist Marc Antoine appears with Brian Simpson, an accomplished pianist who has served as musical director for jazz saxophonist Dave Koz for almost two decades. November 28 promises Sax for Christmas with three veterans of the instrument: Warren Hill, Marion Meadows, and Michael Paulo. Collectively, the trio boasts performances at every major jazz festival in the world.
All concerts take place Saturday evenings on the outdoors Masters Plaza stage. They begin at 7:00 p.m., with fans admitted as early as 6:00 p.m. Tickets range from $50 to $85. For a better deal on the entire series, packages are available from $160 to $300. Those who want to come hungry may add on a special three-course dinner package for $99 per show. The meal, served at the resort’s Fireside Lounge adjacent to Masters Plaza, includes a glass of house wine and prime outdoor seating (around a centralized outdoor fire pit) that offers superior views of the concert.
For those coming out of town and desiring to stay at the resort on one of the concert nights, a discounted room rate starting at $129 per night is available (based on availability) by using code “JAZZ” when booking at 877-253-0041.
