2019 ANIMAL SAMARITANS’ SUPERHEROES RUN/WALK
EVENT INFORMATION
ABOUT THIS RACE Be a Super Hero and support our 4-legged friends by participating in Animal Samaritans’ SUPERHEROES 5K, 1K Stroll in the Park and Hero in Training Dash for kids 10 and under. Start and finish at beautiful Rancho Mirage Community Park, 71560 San Jacinto Drive in Rancho Mirage and follow a 3.1 mile track and trail route in perfect racing weather. All 5K and 1K participants receive a short sleeved shirt, super hero cape, mask, awesome finisher medal, free finisher photo download and goody bag! Kids 10 and under in the Hero in Training dash receive a super hero cape and finisher button! Complete the Santa Paws 5K, Superheroes 5K AND the RUN FOR IKE 5K on March 31st and earn yourself a special DOGGIE TRIO medal!!! WELL BEHAVED DOGS ON LEASHES ARE WELCOME! NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES, PLEASE. Adorable doggie bandanas will be available for purchase at packet pick-up and on race day for $5 each.

COURSES
The 5K course is runner, walker and doggie friendly. Starting and finishing at Rancho Mirage Community Park, the race course takes you along the Whitewater Wash, under Hwy. 111 and through the Rancho Mirage Cove neighborhood before turning back to the finish. Show your spirit and run as your favorite super hero and vie for special award and prizes!
The 1 K Stroll in the Park route is walker, doggie and stroller friendly and is an easy course on flat and level surfaces through beautiful Rancho Mirage Community Park.
The Hero in Training Dash is suitable for kids 10 and under and will be run in the park itself, following the 5K & 1K run/walk. This is an untimed event. You may register on-line or race day morning.
AWARDS
Finisher medals for all 5K & 1K participants! Age group medals awarded 3 deep in 5 year age categories through 85+. Trophies for top 3 finishers male, female and 4-legged. Special awards for top finishing fully costumed runners and dogs 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
GOODIES GALORE!
Super cool short sleeved T-shirt and satin super hero capes and mask included with registration for all 5K & 1K participants. Mask and cape for Superheroes-in-Training Dash. Additional t-shirts and capes available for sale.
PACKET PICK-UP
Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, March 8th from 11AM – 5PM at Running Wild 611 S. Palm Canyon, Palm Springs or on race morning, onsite beginning at 6:30AM. 5K and 1K Race begins at 8AM. Late registration will also be available at packet pick-up and race morning.
PARKING
Off-site parking available in park parking lot, at THE RIVER shopping center one block from event and on surrounding streets near venue at Rancho Mirage Community Park.
COSTUME CONTEST
Dress as your favorite Super Hero and compete for some awesome awards and prizes. Prizes awarded to 4-legged superheroes, too!

Complete Santa Paws 5K Superheroes 5K AND the RUN FOR IKE 5K on March 31st and earn yourself a special DOGGIE TRIO medal!!! Registration now open for all events – sign up now!.
