One of my very favorite things about Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa—whether I’m there to play a little roulette, to see a live act at ultramodern performance venue The Show, or to take in a decadent treatment at Sunstone Spa—is the plethora of dining options to pick from when whatever I’ve been doing has whetted my appetite.
For just a light snack with a view, there’s the Wet Bar by the pool, where you’ll find grilled items that’ll make you feel like it’s summer all year long. Java Caliente is Agua’s coffee house, where fresh pastries, bagels, and, well, coffee, are waiting for you.
Lunch, dinner, and snacks are available at the Poker Deli, which boasts a great collection of quick burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts.
An international selection of fine foods are served at waterscafé, where breakfast, lunch, and dinner can be had inside, or out on the patio. No reservations are required, and just some of this peaceful environment’s special offerings include happy hour (with a $5 bar menu and many cocktail specials) from Monday through Friday, Asian specialties (including Agua’s famous Pad Thai), and an amazing array of local craft brews.
For more formal entertainment or special occasions, I like to frequent The Steakhouse, a classic, dinner-only, fine dining “meat and potatoes” eatery that also offers happy hour, as well as early bird specials. After you cut into that perfectly grilled filet mignon (with all the sides and sauces your heart desires), be sure to take a peek at the sumptuous desserts that will end your evening in style.
Finally, any casino worth its weight in gold bars features a winning buffet, and Aqua has one—in spades. It’s called the Grand Palms, and it commands attention with its wide range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. And don’t forget about Grand Palms’ Sunday Champagne Brunch.
With this embarrassment of feasting riches, is it any wonder I love to go to Agua Caliente on an empty stomach? As always, tell your server Potter sent you!
