I’m often in awe at the amazing number of wonderful women who call the Palm Springs Valley home. Charming, talented, and generous, they add so much to the fabulous fabric of our desert living. And one who literally deals with fabric is our very own homegrown designer, Trina Turk. Trina is often honored for her contributions to our community, as she was recently at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage at the Women Leaders Forum’s “Women Who Rule” fundraiser, along with Peggy Cravens, Selby Dunham, and Fern Rudd.

For as long as I’ve known her, I have loved her style, her taste—and her clothes. Not only have Trina and her husband, Jonathan Skow, put “Palm Springs Style” on the clothing map. They’ve exported that style beyond our desert borders to 11 other locations, where they now sell their colorful and beautifully tailored women’s and men’s clothing line alongside a selection of fabulous home furnishings. I’m particularly partial to the flagship store in Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District, where buyers will find the largest selection of Trina Turk, Mr Turk, and home décor sold in a tranquil setting with exquisite service.

Since opening the original boutique, the valley location has expanded twice to accommodate the business’ growing line of merchandise, which includes both formal and casual clothing in some of the most beautiful prints and colors imaginable. Trina has also designed a lovely line of casual jewelry, and continues to offer new and exciting bed, bath, and decorative accessories in her stores. With just a short drive from my Rancho Mirage home to the Trina Turk store, I can indulge in one of my favorite pastimes—luxuriating in the resort lifestyle of the Palm Springs Valley.
