Pop Star Meghan Trainor Coming to the Palm Springs Valley Just in Time for Ladies Golf Tournament

Meghan Trainor—the zaftig songbird and songwriter whose monster hit “All About That Base” sat at the top of Billboard’s pop chart for two months in late 2014—has been revealed as the headliner at the Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend, which will celebrate its 25th year in the Palm Springs Valley from April 1-5. Known globally as the largest lesbian event on its kind in the world, it will host Trainor at its Black Party, which is held at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Saturday, April 4. Trainor joins a long list of pop superstars who have performed for the LGBT crowds (and those who love them) in the desert. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kesha, and Mary J. Blige are just some of the divas of song who have performed at either The Dinah or at Jeffrey Sanker’s White Party, happening this year April 24-27.

The Dinah’s packed slate of events makes for a fun-filled weekend, especially since it coincides with Rancho Mirage’s annual ladies golf extravaganza held at Westin Mission Hills Country Club. Founded in 1972 by Dinah Shore, it’s the first LPGA major of the season, was formerly known as the Kraft Nabisco Challenge, and will this year lead with its new moniker the ANA Inspiration, to reflect its new title sponsor, All Nippon Airways, Japan’s leading airline. With sports behemoth IMG and veteran Tournament Director Gabe Codding at the helm, the ANA Inspiration promises a thrill-ride for player-competitors and golf enthusiasts alike when it rolls onto the greens March 30. As always, it will culminate with the winner’s traditional victory jump into Poppy’s Pond on April 5. See you at both events. Fore!
