Rancho Mirage Magazine

There are few things I like better than a good read, whether it’s a tantalizing novel, a juicy periodical, my newspapers, an informative blog, or even a sentimental greeting card—I just love words!  But add a party to the potential for a good publication and I get even more excited.  And that’s what just happened recently at the festivities that featured a new annual centered around my beloved hometown of Rancho Mirage, appropriately called Rancho Mirage MagazineR/M for short!

The launch party was held at the ever-popular and beautiful Steven Chase-decorated Wally’s Desert Turtle Restaurant on Highway 111.  Executive chef Richard Pelz offered a spread of amazing nibbles that delighted the invited guests, a who’s who of Rancho Mirage that include the mayor, city council members and officials, and numerous business owners, in addition to the Palm Springs Life Magazine team that produced the product.

In the works for over a year, R/M is a gorgeous glossy with all kinds of beautiful photographs, fascinating articles, and enough fun and fascinating facts that it can’t help but boost the civic pride of locals—and incite visitors to dash to the phone or online to make reservations.  With a print run of 20,000, the publication went out to all 14,000 city residents and to 1000 Rancho Mirage businesses.  Copies will also be available in guest rooms at all three of our fair city’s resorts (The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa, Omni Resorts Rancho Las Palmas, and Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa), and were also distributed to local realtors to give to potential buyers of Rancho Mirage properties.

The cover photo and corresponding inside article feature Desert European Motorcars principal Todd Blue and his wife, Karen, pictured next to a 2014 Bentley GTC Speed at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa…a quite fitting way to introduce those who may not know about it to the beauty of the Rancho Mirage desert lifestyle, right here in the heart of the Palm Springs Valley.
