Rancho Mirage’s Brandini Toffee Turns 10

Some people just know how to celebrate a special date. October 1st marked the 10th anniversary of Rancho Mirage-based Brandini Toffee. The beloved company was kickstarted when 15-year-old friends and schoolmates Brandon Weimer and Leah Post went into the business of crafting toffee based on Brandon’s old family recipe combining sugar, butter, chocolate, and almonds. Over the last decade, the brand has expanded to include not only a raft of additional products—popcorn, brownies, pretzels, chocolate almond bark, milkshakes, ice cream bars—but moved into a new 15,000-square-foot factory and store on Highway 111 in the Las Palmas Shopping Center in addition to opening a successful satellite shop in downtown Palm Springs.

On October 18th, a well-rehearsed Brandon traveled to Home Shopping Network’s St. Petersburg, Florida headquarters and appeared on the net live to launch (and sell!) the brand from coast to coast. Needless to say, Brandini Toffee was a huge success!

On the 21st—or thereabouts, thanks to the vagaries of construction—Brandini will unveil its newest outlet, which is, ironically, located at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets just west of us on Interstate 10. “We’re both excited and anxious about this expansion,” says Brandon of the pocket-sized, 180-square-foot shop. “While we have confidence that this location is ideal for our retail concept, it is our first test at bringing our brand outside of the Coachella Valley. Fingers crossed that this is the first of many Brandini locations throughout Southern California!”

If you want to congratulate Brandon and the entire Brandini team on all of their stunning accomplishments, you can do so in person at the Brandini 10th Anniversary Party and Open House, which will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Rancho Mirage factory/store on Saturday, October 29th. In addition to a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, there will be factory tours, a new product launch, and free ice cream bars for guests all day! If we’re lucky, Brandon may even spill the beans on even more good news coming Brandini’s way in the next few months.

Diana and I are always so proud of what Brandon and Leah—with the help of their parents Angela, Brad, Maggie, and Justin—have accomplished. They’re all much-appreciated candy-making ambassadors exporting Rancho Mirage sweetness throughout the nation…and, dare we say…the world! I mean, Diana and I can’t be the only ones who’ve given friends around the globe a taste of this unbeatable confection. Bravo, Brandini!
