Last February, dear readers, my friend and fellow blogger Diana Dodge and I urged you to participate in Palm Springs Life magazine’s 2017 Best of the Best competition. Well, all your votes have been counted and the results are in. For the first time, the publication split the winners by city, and in Rancho Mirage, Cello’s Pantry (on Highway 111 next to Camera West) was voted Best Caterer.
“Being voted Best of the Best is a huge honor for us,” says co-owner (with husband Tom Steferak) Bonnie Barkley. “All of our hard work for the last eight years has been acknowledged, and we truly appreciate it. We are thankful for our clients and for having the privilege of working with each of them to make their events special. We know there are a lot of choice out there, and we cherish the opportunity to serve our guests.”
No matter the size or the venue—a wedding banquet for hundreds in a luxurious indoor setting, or a pizza party for a half-dozen in your back yard—Bonnie is ready to serve. (And yes, the woman even has her own portable pizza oven, just in case you were wondering about the authenticity of those pies!)
Whether your needs revolve around breakfast, lunch, cocktail hour, dinner, or late-night, Bonnie can either drop-off the goodies you’ll serve yourself, or she and her expert staff will come in, take charge of your kitchen and entertaining spaces, and leave the place crystal clean after guests leave.
Not that one has to employ Bonnie in a caterer capacity to enjoy her innate cooking talent. Just stop by the shop to sample the sandwiches, salads, or baked goods on display. Or grab and go with one of her famous “Grab & Go” dinners that come replete with three courses for two. “Don’t forget,” says Bonnie, invoking her slogan. “When it’s too hot to cook…We Cater to You!”
