Rancho Mirage’s Fleming’s is Always Hopping

How do I love Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar? Let me count the ways. First of all, it’s where some of the best beef in the Palm Springs Valley can be found, seven nights a week. Then there’s the bar menu’s “5 For $6 ’Til 7” and “8 For $9 ’Til 10” promotions, which refer to the number of cocktails, wines by the glass, and appetizers available for said price until said time. I mean, Fleming’s is a big reason I’m so often at The River. There’s just always so much to eat and drink there.

For instance, on November 6th at 5:30 p.m., the eatery will host its “Autumn Affair,” a First Friday’s Wine Tasting event. For $35, you can imbibe seven riveting reds (such as a Meiomi Pinot Noir from California, or a Torres Alto Ibericos Rioja from Spain), and seven wonderful whites (like the Jolie-Pitt & Perrin Rosé from France, or the Two Arrowheads Viognier-Roussanne from California). All this while servers pass hors-d’oeuvres like Goat Cheese & Apple Tartlets and Smoked Lamb Chop “Lollipops” with a fig barbecue sauce and cherry chutney.

Speaking of wine, on October 16, the brand will unveil its new Fleming’s 100 wines by the glass, an impressive, curated collection of award-winning vinos handpicked by the company’s National Director of Wine Maeve Pesquera. Lest that didn’t sink in, Fleming’s offers 100 wines by the glass, people! Music to my mouth!

And it’s not too late to reserve for the October 23rd Hangar 24 Beer Dinner, which begins at 6:30 p.m. for $65 per person. It’s a four-course pairing dinner where a Brown Sugar Seared Pork Belly will meet its match in Hangar 24’s Oktoberfest Fall Lager…Chilean Sea Bass with Coconut Couscous & an Orange and Fennel Gastrique will be accompanied by an Orange Wheat…Marinated Hanger Steak with a Chocolate Porter Demi-glace and Fried Plaintains will be served with a Chocolate Porter…and Carrot Cake with Orange Honey Caramel will harmonize with Hangar 24’s Betty IPA.
