Recapping the Wonderful Woman’s Show In Rancho Mirage

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:  When it comes to things to do, places to go, and people to meet, my hometown of Rancho Mirage has it all!  For example, what better way is there to spend a weekend than to do so with a wonderful group of women (and some very special men) at the Fifth Annual Desert Woman’s Show at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa?!  Having taken place November 17-18, 2012, this “ultimate girls’ day out” lived up to its promise of providing ample opportunity for great shopping, food-tasting, relaxing, pampering, learning, and enjoying a fun day with old and new friends!

More than 1500 people populated the multiple convention halls on each day.  Macy*s was on hand to present some fab fashion shows, and our ever-lovable local celeb designer Michael Costello (of Project Runway fame) presented his favorite fashion tips.  Free lectures, demonstrations, and advice was available throughout the two days, with vendors offering myriad services and products and doing brisk business with patrons who came prepared to listen, learn, indulge—and shop!

Of course, there was plenty of food and ample adult beverages for all in which to indulge.  Food-tasting from local restaurants—including the Westin Mission Hills’ newly opened Pinzimini—and wine- and spirit-samplings allowed guests to relax and refresh in between all the other activities.

It will be a whole year before the Woman’s Show winds its way back to the Palm Springs Valley, but thankfully there are a bazillion other events to keep us all occupied in the meantime.  Never a dull moment in my beautiful Rancho Mirage!
