One of the most exciting aspects of watching a new resort flourish is discovering its varied amenities, services, and distinct venues within the property as they’re unveiled. The latest big news from the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage is that unique Palm Springs retailer Raymond | Lawrence is opening its second-ever location in the luxury resort’s retail corridor known as the Colonnade of Shops.
Created by Larry Abel and Raymond McCallister, the original Raymond | Lawrence has for years been a hot spot stop in the heart of Palm Springs’ Uptown Design District on North Palm Canyon Drive. Rather than specialize in one brand or commodity, the store consists of various sellers and pop-up boutiques housed under one roof. Shoppers can find exclusive home décor items, furniture, accessories, housewares, textiles, bedding, men’s and women’s fashions, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, sunglasses, and even a sampling of real estate and interior design services.
At the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, different selections from the R | L flagship store will rotate into the new boutique monthly, thereby keeping the shopping experience fresh for repeat guests. Just some of the brands whose collections I can’t wait to browse through include artist SHAG, Studio BE (a new line of resort wear by entertainer and desert dweller Bobbie Eakes), swimwear from Chelsea Lane, acrylic items from ASI, and organic and locally sourced skin and body care from The Body Deli. Say What! will offer a line of greeting cards and stationery.
In a prepared statement, the resort’s general manager, Doug Watson, said “Raymond | Lawrence at The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage will provide our resort guests with an incomparable shopping experience. [Larry and Raymond’s] unique perspective and eclectic merchandise selection will have great appeal for the luxury guest who wishes to purchase resort wear or a memento of their visit.”
