Shakespeare Scenes in the Palm Springs Valley

To go, or not to go—there is NO question… LET’S GO!  If you’re a fan of the fabulous, bountiful Bard (of course it’s William Shakespeare of whom I speak), make haste to the Annenberg Theatre at the Palm Springs Art Museum and join in the free fun as A Fluid Movement, the Palm Springs Valley’s only Shakespeare troupe, presents a program called SHAKE SCENES!

I’ve long been a fan—and ardent supporter—of the Palm Springs Art Museum (and its sister institution, the Palm Springs Art Museum in Palm Desert).   I try to make it to as many of their amazing programs and exhibitions as is humanly possible.  But for me, Shakespeare’s the guy, and I wouldn’t miss this evening, devoted entirely to the magic and beauty of this incomparable writer, for the world.  The talented group of actors will present this one-night-only event showcasing some of the most loved and best-known scenes from some of the most famous and adored plays in the world.  We’re talking about Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, The Tempest, Henry the IV Part 1, The Taming of the Shrew, and much more!

And after the scene performances, we’ll be invited to join in a Q&A session with the cast and crew, which will give us an opportunity to get into the minds and hearts of the actors, directors, and designers of this local organization so we can learn more about the great work they do.  What a fun way to introduce a younger generation to some of the best drama in the world, and to not only renew one’s love of this master writer but get to know a great desert theater group to boot!  And yes, the evening is free!—but since A Fluid Movement is a non-profit, of course donations will be humbly accepted.
