Divide and conquer! That’s what my pal Potter Palma and I are doing the weekend of April 25-28. While both of us obviously—and rightly—adore living in Rancho Mirage, neither of us will be spending much time in our hometown on those dates. Rather, we’ll be heading toward opposite ends of the Palm Springs Valley for two decidedly different experiences. While Potter parties with the Palm Springs boys in Palm Springs, I’ll be headed to the Empire Polo Club in Indio for Stagecoach California’s Country Music Festival.
Like the previous twin weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Stagecoach is produced by producer Goldenvoice. And like its older and a bit bigger brother, Stagecoach boasts an eclectic, astounding array of expert musicians to regale the teeming crowds of aficionados who descend upon the desert to live, eat, and breathe music. Country music, in this case.
Just a few of the acts I am dying to see include Katey Sagal and the Forest Rangers, Rancho Mirage’s own Shelby Lynne, and headliner Eric Church on Friday the 25th…Crystal Gayle, Jennifer Nettles, and headliner Jason Aldean on Saturday the 26th…and Dustin Lynch, Florida Georgia Line, and headliner Luke Bryan on Sunday the 27th.
I hope you either got your tickets early (like I did), or took advantage of the special extra passes made available to locals a few weeks ago. My western garb is ready to wear, and I’ll be dressed to the nines from my silver-spurred cowboy boots to the tippy top of my cowgirl hat. Meet you by the Mane Stage, pardner!
