Maybe it’s too early to be thinking of your 2016 Halloween costume, but remember that from now through October 31st, Sundays are Fundays at Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse at The River on Highway 111 in Rancho Mirage (www.babesbbqandbrewhouse.com).
From 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., forego your usual brunch spot and come on down to Babe’s, where mimosas, cocktails, draft beer, champagne, cheladas, small plates, and wine tastings are all just six dollars. (Don’t know your chelada from your burrito, you say? FYI, it’s a popular bebida—or drink—that blends beer, lime juice, and a variety of hot sauces, spices, and chiles. The quenching mixture is served in a chilled, salt-rimmed glass. Countless variations were born in Mexico and Latin America.)
“Sunday Funday has been something that we and our business-owner friends have been doing in Palm Springs on and off for the last four years,” says operations manager Arthur Vasquez. “With the increased popularity of the term, we decided to be the first in Rancho Mirage to tempt the Palm Springers to try another city—or in this case, restaurant—Babe’s!”
According to Art, “We will have three different small plates that will change every week: one seafood, one vegetarian, and one chicken, pork or beef. House beer will be 21oz. Wine tastings will consist of three different wines that will change weekly poured in the same manner as in a tasting room. The vibe is less ‘Happy Hour’ and more of a way for people to socially gather, reflect on their week, and enjoy time together!”
I don’t know about you, but this coming Sunday—and many in the future, I’m sure—I’m seizing this opportunity to worship at the altar of Babe’s!
