If you’ve so far hesitated to have a meal at the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage’s signature restaurant State Fare Bar & Kitchen for fear that the check may be prohibitive, think again, dear dining friend, think again.
Now through March 24th, Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., you and your table mates may have a three-course dinner at State Fare for only $38 per person. Even with holidays and special occasions excluded, that leaves more than enough time to drive up Frank Sinatra Drive, leave your car with the (complimentary) valet, and walk the stunning grounds of this ultra chic resort (to whet your appetite) before you sit down and unfold your napkin to enjoy Chef Bruno Lopez’ culinary mastery.
To start you’ll have a choice of the Chef’s Soup of the Day or a Caesar Salad with herb croutons and shaved parmesan. As your entrée, choose between Ale Braised Short Ribs with white cheddar grits, roasted carrots, crispy onions, and horseradish; Angel Hair Pasta with light marinara and vegetable ragouts; or the State Fare Prime Burger with Hopscotch cheddar, Lopez’s famous onion-bacon jam, aioli, and arugula on a pretzel bun. Dessert is always a surprise, with the Chef’s Creation awaiting you at meal’s end.
Sounds delish, doesn’t it? But again, dining at the Ritz-Carlton is so much more than just a meal. It’s an entire experience. In the words of the management itself, here is its “Reflections of Our Sunset Supper”:
“As you walk the beautiful grounds of our resort, you will notice the amazing hues of the sunset. The locale: Mountains facing you (true North!) are nicknamed the ‘Chocolate Mountains’ due to the
sun’s reflective shades of light and dark brown… What a glorious time of day! We hand-select each item on our menu, fresh being our most important calling. Then, we craft it in a way that we hope will inspire you to keep coming back. We encourage you to share liberally—that’s what we do. Thanks for all of our friends in the Coachella Valley who are great farmers. We are very grateful to be on this journey with you. One more thing: Warm bread with salted sweet butter is a must-have—must.”
Wow! I’m suddenly famished! Are you? Race you to the top of the hill, my esteemed compatriots… Call 760-321-8282 or visit www.opentable/state-fare-bar-and-kitchen for more information. Bon appétit!
