A seat at the table of chef de cuisine Brandon Testi at bluEmber—Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa’s signature restaurant—is always a feast for the senses. Never more so than when Brandon and his team serve up a special event.

“Taste of Rancho” is a new pop-up dinner series that launched at bluEmber on October 30 with the Halloween-themed “Boo & Brew,” which featured a special tasting of local beers from Coachella Valley Brewery, La Quinta Brewery, and Rancho Mirage’s very own Babe’s Bar-B-Que & Brewhouse. Gourmet sliders were also on the menu while a DJ spun scary tunes and costumed revelers indulged in trick-or-treat party favors. A special “one-night-only” room rate of $99 was available for those who wished to stay at in one of the resort’s sumptuous rooms overnight.

If you missed it, don’t fret. The series continues in 2016 with the following events:

January 14 is “Coppola Night,” with wines from that vintner pairing up exquisitely with Brandon’s menu. Set in a private location featuring Coppola Films, the event calls for red and black attire. The cost is $80 per person, and the scrumptious elegance begins at 7:00 p.m.

On February 25, it’s “Burger & Blues.” Or should I say, burgers, blues, and a cigar rolling demonstration by a local expert? The dress code this time is blue jeans and bling, and the cost is $40 per person. 7:00 p.m. is the start time.

“Wine Blending” happens on April 28, also at 7:00 p.m. For $80 per person, guests will be invited to create their own individual wine blends with product supplied by Franciscan Estates. Live entertainment will regale attendees, who are urged to wear the classic black and white.
