The long-awaited lineup for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival—which will once again take place over two consecutive weekends, April 11-13 and April 18-20, 2014—has finally been announced, and let me tell you, it’s standout stellar in every sense of the word.
As has been previously announced, both weekends will be identical. On the two consecutive Fridays, just some of the acts taking to the stage will include Bryan Ferry, Ellie Goulding, L.A.-based sister trio HAIM, and Replacements, with OutKast being the major headliner.
On Saturdays April 12 and 19, Fatboy Slim, the Pet Shop Boys, Lorde, Pharrell Williams, Foster the People, and Queens of the Stone Age will warm the crowds up for main event Muse.
And on the twin Sundays, Toy Dolls, Duck Sauce, Lana Del Rey, Beck, and Calvin Harris will set the stage for hotter-than-hot Canadian band Arcade Fire.
All in all, more than 150 acts will appear. The music lover in me is perennially amazed that promoter Goldenvoice keeps putting on such a sizzling series of concerts at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. But I am so so happy it does. Can there be such a thing as too much talent in one place at one time? Not a chance. As I write this, passes are still available for weekend number two. I hope you get your tickets. I’ve got mine, and I can’t wait to be swayin’ with the music in the springtime air.
