My pal Samantha Tweddell is one smart cookie. After working for almost two decades on behalf of business owners and consumers in the non-profit sector at both the local and state levels in L.A., she moved to Rancho Mirage in the summer of 2014 to head up the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce. Jack Srebnik, the restaurateur whose resume includes Maracas Cantina and The Slice, both Rancho Mirage fixtures, is the chairman of her board of directors. Could we be in better hands, people?

According to Samantha, when people first come to Rancho Mirage—to live, or just to visit—hers is one of the first numbers they call. Thankfully, the chamber has an extensive member database which it uses to make any referral an inquirer may request—from goods and services to a sure-bet restaurant recommendation.

While most call, others just drop in. The chamber’s offices are located on Highway 111 near Bob Hope Drive, in the shopping mall across from The River…the one that houses bath-and-kitchen haven PIRCH, the always illuminating Lamps Plus, and high-end outdoor furniture and accessories dealer Hayman & Summers. In addition to solid information and advice, chamber staff can also provide all kinds of documentation about our fair city, not to mention some pretty cool Rancho Mirage-branded merchandise.

So if you’re in need of some RM 4-1-1, check out www.ranchomiragechamber.com. If you’re a business owner, be sure to become a member. Not only are the monthly networking mixers a great place to make friends with fellow merchants and members of the community, but Samantha and her team can’t very well recommend you to those in need if you’re not in the chamber’s member database!
