As my friends and blog readers know, I’m not at my prime in the morning. Sure, I have to deal with real life and I can function when I have to. But I’m a night person, and living in Rancho Mirage right down the road from the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa gives me a wonderful opportunity to wile away an evening or two with friends, and share with out-of-towners a great place to eat, play, and enjoy great entertainment.
Three years ago The Show at Agua Caliente opened to great fanfare—and deservedly so. This $76M project with some of the “greenest” theater construction in the country offers a spectacular venue in which to watch a wide array of world-class performers strut their stuff. With a capacity of more than 2000, The Show often surprises guests with how intimate it feels, even for those seated in the last row in the 4th level of the house (which is a mere 125 feet from the stage). I’ve been lucky enough to be invited a few times to sit in one of the 12 luxury boxes that offer a very special concert experience, with everything from plush seats and amazing sightlines to VIP food and bar service.
The Show presents great performers year-round, with summer 2012 entertainers including Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Heart, Rick Springfield, and Jethro Tull. After the show at The Show, I love heading on over to The Bar at Water’s Café for The After Party, complete with a full roster of cocktail specials. It’s great fun to hang out for a bit, visit with my pals, and maybe meander over to the gaming floor for a little gambling fun. It’s a wonderful way to spend the night, especially if I get lucky! www.hotwatercasino.com/TheShow/
