The Show-stopping The Show

Living in Rancho Mirage—smack dab in the center of the gorgeous Palm Springs Valley and all the wonderful world-class attractions, events, entertainment, and dining option

s it has to offer—it’s easy to forget that the area boasts one of the most spectacular live performance venues in Southern California.  If you’re in the know, then you understand I’m speaking about The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa.

Unveiled in 2009 to the tune of 76 million dollars, this state-of-the-art theatre, one of the most environmentally sound in the nation, sets the stage for internationally known, award-winning singers and comedians to regale desert audiences with their talent.  While The Show seats more than 2000 audience members, its intimate feel is astounding.  Surely that’s because no seat is farther than 125 from the spotlight on stage.

I was last at The Show in late May, to see one of my favorite performers, pop princess turned country queen Jewel.  And I already have my tickets to see the incomparable “total entertainer” Mr. Bobby Vinton on September 7.  The man whom Billboard magazine calls “the all-time most successful love singer of the rock era” will be sure to have me swooning over his still-dashing good looks, his mellifluous vocal prowess, and his indelible roster of classic pop hits.  “Blue Velvet,” “Roses Are Red (My Love),” and “Sealed With a Kiss” still rank as tops on my personal playlist!  For tickets and more information on upcoming concerts, visit
