Hold his hand and lead that man just where you want him to go. Reba will tell you how to hike your way to romance in the Palm Springs Valleys.

Tahqutiz Canyon will always be my top choice for romantic hiking. This hike is more of a walk and within a mile you end up at the beautiful and deeply mysterious fall. Sit with your man on one of the giant boulders; take in the beauty while slowly calibrating your frequencies to the love channel. This walk is a perfect pre-brunch outing. I’d pick La Vallauris in Palm Springs for brunch.

Tram ride to the sky is at the top of my list of romantic things to do in the Palm Springs Valley. It’s not a hike but it is an amazing outdoor experience that is both breath taking and heart pounding. The slowing revolving Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes you straight up the sheer cliffs of the San Jacinto Mountain that looms right behind Palm Springs to a romantic aerie that overlooks the entire Valley. A restaurant and a bar at the top will serve you a nosh and a drink or take your own and find an isolated spot for your own romantic picnic.

Indian Canyons are terrific in the fall because the aspen trees blaze yellow, in the spring because the wildflowers carpet the hill sides and in the summer (early mornings) the steams course through the palm oasis providing a cool retreat from the heat. Try Andreas Canyon – an easy one mile loop. This hike has all that bells and whistles required to make your guy happy to lead the way on a path that you selected.
