It’s become a signature springtime ritual in the desert, hasn’t it? The coming together of tens of thousands of international gay males for mega-promoter Jeffrey Sanker’s annual White Party Palm Springs. It all happens from April 24 to 27, and although Mr. Sanker hasn’t yet unveiled who will headline at the Saturday night extravaganza at the Palm Springs Convention Center, a few surprises have been revealed so far.
For this, the 26th annual WPPS, no less than 19 world-class international DJ’s will spin over the four days and nights. At the Sunday T-Dance, live performers will include Natalie La Rose (whose megahit “Somebody,” featuring Jeremih, seems to be everywhere of late), “Glee” star Alex Newell, and Grammy-winning superstar diva Leann Rimes. White Party Queen this year is none other than Kelly Osbourne.
New for this year is a Saturday daytime event that’s sure to make a big splash. Sanker has bought out the Wet ’n‘ Wild Palm Springs waterpark on Gene Autry Trail for the benefit of White Party guests. Admittance is included in the price of a weekend WP pass. Barring that, a $45 advance ticket gets you in from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. For those who really want to go big, private (400 sqft) or semi-private (200 sqft) cabanas are available for $700 (including six admission tickets) or $450 (including six admission tickets), respectively.
Speaking of going big, those not in favor of the non-stop cacophony of these types of events’ host hotels can find top-notch accommodations nearby at one of Rancho Mirage’s four deluxe resorts—Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa, Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, and The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa—all of which boast delicious signature restaurants and exquisite spa facilities, not to mention elegant surroundings and superior sleeping quarters befitting princes, kings, and queens.
